The digestive system is very important for our body. The first tract of the system is the mouth. The mouth is where the food is chewed up. The tongue then pushes the food to the back of our throat, into the esophagus. The esophagus is a tube that carries food from the mouth to stomach. The stomach is a stretchy sack, attached to the esophagus that is āJā shaped. It is where the food eaten is stored and breaks down the food into a liquid mixture. The small intestine is a long tube that breaks down the food mixture some more and helps the body absorb all the minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates, proteins and fats. The food stays in the small intestines for 4 hours then moves down into the large intestine, which is almost the last tract in the digestive system. The large intestine is fatter than the small intestine and is a tiny tube with a closed end coming off it called the appendix. It is where all the wastes in our body or combined and turns it into a hard, solid substance which we call poop. The poop then gets pushed into the which is the last tract in the digestive system. The poop will stay in the rectum until we are ready to release it by pushing it through our anus.

Our digestive system has a very big part in our body to be able to function well. The purpose of the digestive system is simply to break down the food we eat daily. Digestion starts before you even take your first bite of food. When our body smells, sees or thinks about food saliva begins to form in our mouths, which helps break down the chemicals in the food. The digestive system allows our body to get the nutrients and energy from the food we eat and use it to energize our bodies and get us through the day.
There our many different problems that could occur within the digestive system. A ulcer is one type of problem that people go through. A ulcer is an opening or painful wound in the stomach. It can be caused by alot of different things like cancer of the stomach or pancreas, stress and spicy foods. But the most way ulcers are caused, is by bacteria growing inside the stomach. This type of bacteria is called Helicobacter Pylori, also known as H. Pylori. The way this bacteria creates ulcers, is that it weakens the protective coating of the stomach and upper intestine. The tissue lining the digestive system underneath is sensitive to acid, so when acid and bacteria enter the lining it irritates it directly, creating ulcers. They can be spread by kissing, sharing food, water and even vomit. To treat ulcer, use antibiotic tablets to reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach. To prevent ulcers, wash hands regularly.
Another problem that occurs within the digestive system is indigestion. Indigestion is basically an upset stomach. It happens mainly when someone eats too much too fast. The symptoms experienced: .Pain or burning in the middle of the belly .bloating .burbing uncontrollably To prevent indigestion, you should avoid eating alot of fatty and greasy food, like chocolate. Make show when you eat you eat slowly and chew the food properly, digest food before starting any exercise, and don't smoke.
